Launching on Solana
Solo and community launches, holder and team roles, fee wallets, and image uploads.
Solana reference
This chapter covers Solana. For the main Robinhood Chain network, see the Robinhood guide. Wallets, token addresses and settlement mechanics are specific to each network.
Solo or community
A solo market is a market launched by an individual holder. A community market is presented as a home for a community’s trades. Both use the same order and settlement mechanics; choosing community does not create shared ownership, governance, or a multisignature treasury.
For community markets, choose holder or team. Team launches require a website and social link. That is a disclosure requirement, not proof that the launcher represents the token’s official team. Solo launches use the holder role. Multiple people can launch markets for the same mint; compare the exact market URL, owner, and fee wallet.
The launch form
Use Launch your OTC market from the hero, Launch now on the community or solo card, or Launch market from navigation. Enter the launch password, then follow four steps: People → Token → Details → Review. Choose your audience, check the existing token mint, add the market details and fee wallet, then review everything before approving. The community and solo cards preselect the matching market type. You can go back before launch without losing the details you entered. Connect the wallet that should own the market before the final authorization. The validator supports initialized original SPL tokens and Token-2022 tokens with no mint extensions or only MetadataPointer, TokenMetadata and TransferFeeConfig. Wallet addresses, token accounts and pool addresses are not token mints. Other Token-2022 mint extensions, including transfer hooks and permanent delegates, are rejected. Supported Token-2022 markets use wallet-held trading; funded escrow is unavailable for them.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Market name | A readable name, 2–60 characters. |
| Token symbol | 1–16 characters; the API rejects whitespace. The mint, not this label, identifies the asset. |
| Mint address | The token mint, not a pool address, token account, or wallet. |
| Description | Up to 500 characters describing your market. |
| Type and role | Solo or community; holder or self-declared team for community markets. |
| Fee wallet | An on-curve Solana wallet address chosen to receive the market fee share. Check every character. |
| Website, social, chat | Complete HTTPS URLs without embedded credentials. Website and social are required for team launches. |
| Picture and banner | Optional uploaded images belonging to the launching wallet. |
Pictures and banners
The form accepts PNG, JPEG, or WebP image inputs up to 10 MB. The browser resizes and re-encodes the upload as WebP: the maximum image dimension is 512 pixels for a picture and 1,600 pixels for a banner, with a maximum encoded payload of 900 KB.
Each selected image requires a separate signed upload authorization before the final market-launch authorization. Rejecting an upload signature stops that upload; review the form and try again. An image does not establish token authenticity. The public API accepts existing upload IDs owned by the signing wallet, not arbitrary remote image URLs or raw image bytes.
Choose the recipient before signing
The owner wallet controls the market’s application actions. The fee-recipient wallet can be different. If a community expects fees to fund a treasury, agree on that recipient before launch and share the address publicly.
The current interface does not provide a market-edit or fee-wallet rotation flow. The funded-escrow market account also fixes its fee wallet at initialization. Do not treat this as a setting you can casually correct after launch. The API requires a normal on-curve fee-wallet address, so do not assume a program-derived treasury address is accepted.
The nominal buyer trading fee is 0.50%: 0.25% for the market recipient and 0.25% for Sidelot, with smallest-unit rounding. Creating a market or accumulating unfilled offers generates no fee revenue. See dashboard and fees.
Review, sign, and share
- Review the mint, market type, role, name, links, images, and fee recipient.
- Approve any selected image uploads, then sign the market-launch authorization.
- Wait for the application to return the created market. A dismissed wallet prompt is not a successful launch.
- Copy the market link and share that exact URL. API-created markets are real listings, and their public market links can be shared with holders.
- Post an offer or invite holders to participate. A launched market does not contain guaranteed liquidity.
Each owner wallet can register up to 50 markets. Market registration currently has no Sidelot listing fee. Registering the listing is separate from on-chain escrow activation; when funded mode is available, a market owner must separately activate its escrow market account.
